About Me

Hello, my name is Laura, and I live in Fort Oglethorpe, GA in the beautiful Chattanooga Valley area with my soul mate Taylor and our precious kitty Juniper. I recently moved to this area from the piney woods of north central Louisiana, where I was born and lived for 30 years. I started making handmade soap over three years ago when my mother suffered from a stroke, as it was a hobby she'd enjoyed before and the process played a huge part in her rehabilitation. I was instantly hooked, engrossed in all the possibilities of color, scent, ingredients, and design. What first started as a mother-daughter activity and (rather expensive) hobby for me, has opened my eyes to a new way of life and awareness of the needs of others and myself.

I also enjoy pc gaming, alt-country music, houseplants, thrifting, television, and some very limited knitting and crocheting. I am currently slowly teaching myself to sew through simple projects like skirts, bags, upcycled clothing and accessories, and catnip toys.

I hope that you will join me in my journey here on this blog as I continue to perfect my craft every day (and explore new crafts!) and put aside my fears to grow as a business. I promise this will always be a place without judgment or pretention where anyone involved with or interested in handcrafted soap making can feel welcome.
